I want to invite you to my performance. It’s nothing you haven’t seen before. Just my life. It's about me and you. About every word we exchanged. About every piece of paper you sent to my home. About that moment when I unfolded them, and my fingerprints touched yours.

I’m the one who keeps showing up at your door. The one your dog wagged its tail at this morning. Come before it’s too late. Come and watch me. This is a game we can only play in the theater.

Final Attachment is an autofiction performance by Iranian theater-maker Maryam Hashempur. This project emerged from a digital collaboration among Iranian diaspora artists across Sweden, Iran, Canada, and Germany. As a participatory experience, this performance invites the audience on a journey through a personal history, where the act of “seeing” and “being seen” in a black box becomes a lens to explore state violence and displacement.
